This project consists of the restoration and reconversion of Correos Chile, the national post office building located on the northwest corner of the Plaza de Armas in Santiago. The proposal aims on the one hand to restore and emphasise the building as a whole, both its interiors and facades, and on the other, to adjust to needs derived from new uses that will reinforce and consolidate the public character of the building. The interventions can be seen as a system of insertions that work in conjunction allowing for the reorganisation of the building’s function as a whole, creating new ways to circulate the building, allowing for visitors and employees to move simultaneously but independently.
